bill_petro.jpgBill Petro is Senior Manager, Sales Development for EMC Corporation in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His primary responsibilities include training and development of both direct EMC Sales Reps and Channel Partner Reps. He trains and speaks internationally at high-level customer events, national sales kick-offs, and reseller events. His expertise includes information management, storage, protection, and virtualization. EMC Corporation is the world’s leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.

Prior, Bill was Senior Director of Business Development at USA.NET, pioneers of Web email and advanced messaging services in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was responsible for driving strategic business partnerships with OEMs, platform vendors, and Wireless Information Device partners (Personal Digital Assistants and wireless email and phone devices) at the company, the world’s largest Messaging ASP.

He previously served as Director of Marketing at DMW Worldwide, creators of enterprise-wide secure e-business solutions. He was responsible for all corporate marketing strategy, planning, and activities, reporting directly to the CEO. He managed product marketing managers and directed the marketing communications group.

Bill was at Sun Microsystems for over 11 years. He was the International Marketing Development Director focusing on Java™ technology, Solaris™, and Enterprise Management Software for Sun’s International Marketing organization. He has been a worldwide speaker at Internet symposia, IT conferences, Telco summits, business seminars, product launches, press events, and sales training.

He has written computer magazine articles and in his spare time, and as an amateur historian, has written numerous articles on the History of the Holidays for both email and blog distribution.

Bill holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he also did post-graduate studies, and has done MBA studies at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
